I grew up in Arizona with parents who drink wine and traveled during their leisure time. So, I came by appreciating wine pretty naturally. I have watched the wine industry in Arizona grow from the beginning. Believe it or not, Arizona produces some very fine wine and is continuing to open wineries in all the wine regions of Arizona.  When Mike (AZ Wine Tours’ chauffeur) and I met we both loved wine and food. Together we decided to move to Portland OR for one wine season. Mike being an experienced chauffeur made it very easy for us to discover and learn about OR wine. Mike took a job with a Portland wine tour company, and I got to reap the benefits of Mike learning where the wineries were and going on his days off to taste, it was great fun for both of us. Actually, one of Oregon’s  well known wine makers Dick Erath from Dundee Hills, OR has chosen southern Arizona to grow vines and make wine. Which he is doing and doing it well!

After returning to Arizona we realized the need for the same wine tour opportunity for residents and visitors here .  With all the wine being produced, people  needed to have the opportunity to taste safely and leisurely. The wine being produced in Arizona is very good!  With this, AZ Wine Tours was born in 2009. But not until later in 2010 did we feel we had done all our homework. We visited most every one of the vineyards and tasting rooms in the state and then started telling people about our tours.

AZ Wine Tours provides day trip vineyard excursions to Northern Arizona; customized overnight vineyard travel throughout the state; and local valley wine bar tours. Limousine tour packages can be reserved for large parties up to eight people and intimate smaller parties for two.
